Elastomeric membrane roofing (for flat or very low-slope roofs) is made of synthetic rubber with a bitumen base. This robust material can withstand impacts by bending and then returning to its original shape. The membrane is sold in rolls, which are unrolled over a base layer while melting its surface for better adhesion.
The two fused membranes create a waterproof barrier that protects every nook and cranny of your flat roof. Another type of elastomeric membrane (self-adhesive membrane) can also be installed without the use of a torch.
